Father’s Day message

In the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-24), most of us focus on the son’s wayward ways, descent into poverty and despair and ultimate return home. In today’s message, Pastor Doug focuses instead on the young man’s awesome father. Like the heavenly Father, he waited in expectant hope for as long as it took for his rebellious boy to return to his open, loving arms.

We hope you have an earthly father to celebrate, but whether you do or not, your Heavenly Father is there, always there, to love and celebrate you.

In the storm, and through the storms, with Jesus

The fateful day when Jesus and the disciples traversed the tumultuous Sea of Galilee holds many challenging—yet simple—lessons for us, his modern-day disciples.

Pastor Doug, using history and drawing together many connected scriptural threads presents a powerful reminder of the main message: faith leading us to shalom in the storm as we head for the other side.

Three Statements (by Pastor Doug Ross)

Pentecost not simply a denomination … it’s an experience

Did you know Pentecost began as a Hebrew celebration called Shavuot, celebrated seven weeks, or 50 days, after Passover? On Pentecost Sunday, Pastor Doug delved into the fascinating Hebraic underpinnings of the major event in Church history, its very birth.

As with so much of the Bible, the parallels between covenants, and extrapolations from Old to New, are wondrous to learn and think about. Communion is celebrated at the end, so have your own elements ready if you wish to partake.
